What are my thoughts on Madden 10 for the Wii… let me put it this way. My boyfriend got this game for Christmas for the Wii. Unfortunately he opened the game before he found out how bad it was (he could have rented it and discovered that, but instead he ended up having to sell it to someone instead of being able to exchange it at Best Buy)… but he ended up buying a PS3 just for the sake of “playing Madden the way it should be played.” If you like your games cartoon-ish or you’re 7 years old, have fun with this, but if you actually like quality video games, stay away from the Wii.
Madden 10 is great. I like how the teams are set up and how you can trade players or sign free agents. It gives you a lot of freedom. Its a fun game to play with people or just by yourself.
However there are some things I would change. First off I wish the machine’s players were challenging(receivers can’t catch). The announcers always say the same things and are not always accurate to the plays happening. MOST importantly I wish that you could acquire players from other teams without having to trade players every time(the machine rips you off every time). Another huge upgrade would be to include this years draft picks and for the machine to get harder in the postseason. More excitement for the Super Bowl would be nice.
Its still the best Madden game I’ve bought and I say it’s worth the money. Its easy to learn.
I bought this for my father and later found out how complicated it is to imput. Do not buy for someone unless they are have a good knowledge of Pro football.
I just purchased a Wii this past Friday. “Madden NFL 10″ was one of the first games I got despite the criticisms I read. In the end, it’s still the “Madden” brand I’ve enjoyed playing over the years in previous incarnations. Yes, there are some things I don’t like about it- the play-by-play commentary sucks, the Franchise mode being hidden, the difficulties of the controllers in the Superstar mode (which is my first time playing it), and well, it seems pretty difficult for me to get real competition from the computer (even in the All-Madden degree of difficulty), but on the whole, I’ve enjoyed getting reacquainted with this gaming classic brand. Hopefully the next incarnations will improve on this version.
